Please explain what a fingerprint tree guestbook is.
A fingerprint tree is a hand-sketched ink illustration by artist Leonor Tubb. At your event, guests press a finger onto an ink pad and press it onto the tree — each fingerprint becomes a leaf. The result is a one-of-a-kind artwork that captures everyone who shared your special day, displayed beautifully on your wall for years to come.
Are the trees hand-drawn?
Yes! Every design is an original sketch by Leonor, drawn in ink. When you order a print, you receive a high-quality reproduction of the original sketch on a support board.
What occasions are fingerprint trees suitable for?
Fingerprint trees are perfect for weddings, baby showers, birthday milestones, engagements, christenings, school farewells, family reunions, and corporate events. If you're celebrating with people you love, a fingerprint tree fits the occasion.
📐 Choosing the right size
How do I know which size to order?
Each listing shows the recommended guest count per size — for example, the medium (A2) suits 80–100 guests, the large suits 100–130, and so on. If you're unsure, WhatsApp Leonor on 076 689-0896 and she'll help you choose the right fit.
What if I have more guests than the largest size allows?
Larger custom sizes are available. Contact Leonor directly via WhatsApp or email at fingerprinttreesza@gmail.com to discuss a custom size for your event.
Can guests use more than one finger?
Absolutely — guests can use any finger, and children love using all of theirs! Just bear in mind that more prints per guest means you may need a larger-sized tree.
🎨 Customisation
Can I add custom text or wording to the tree?
Yes! Most designs can include personalised text, such as names, dates, or a short message. This is handled as a commission — contact Leonor on WhatsApp or via the Commission Art page to discuss your requirements before ordering.
Can I commission a completely custom design?
Absolutely. Leonor loves creating bespoke trees for special occasions. Visit the Commission Art page or WhatsApp her directly to start the conversation. Custom commissions require additional lead time, so please enquire as early as possible.
Can I pick different colours?
The trees are sketched in black or brown ink—the colour comes from your guests' fingerprints! Ink pads are single-colour, but you can buy different colours depending on your theme or favourite colour scheme. Please contact Leonor if you have specific colour preferences.
📦 Ordering & shipping
What is included with my order?
Every order includes your fingerprint tree printed on luxury paper and instructions for use at your event. Everything arrives safely flat-packed — no rolls or tubes.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched within 5-7 business days. Delivery via The Courier Guy typically takes a further 3–5 business days, depending on your location. If you need your tree urgently, please WhatsApp Leonor before ordering to confirm availability.
Can I collect from the studio?
Yes! Studio collection in Pretoria is available and free of charge. WhatsApp Leonor on 076 689-0896 to arrange a convenient time.
Do you ship outside South Africa?
Currently, Fingerprint Trees ships only within South Africa. If you are based outside SA, please get in touch to discuss options.
🖊️ At your event
Is the ink pad included?
No—there are so many colours available for the brand we recommended. The ink colours are very closely linked to your theme or favourite colour scheme. You are welcome to contact Leonor or visit the studio to get a feel for the options and try out various colours.
Most stationery stores sell these inkpads. If you are based in Pretoria, we recommend Archneers, Scap-a-Doodles and PNA.
How do guests know what to do?
Simple printed instructions are included with your order. Most guests catch on immediately—it's an intuitive and fun activity that gets everyone involved, including children and elderly guests.
What if a guest makes a mistake?
No problem at all — fingerprints layer beautifully, and small smudges simply add to the charm and uniqueness of the finished artwork. No two trees ever look the same!
🖼️ After the event
How do I display my fingerprint tree?
Your tree arrives mounted on a support board but is ready to frame. Standard A2 frames are widely available at home décor stores. Ask your framer about dry mounting for the best result.
Will the ink fade over time?
The trees are printed using high-quality archival inks on acid-free luxury paper, designed to last without fading.
Can I order a reprint of the same design?
If you'd like a second copy of a design (for example, as a gift), contact Leonor directly to discuss.
